Hi! I am going to try and blog again. My attempts in the past weren't so great but I really want family (and anyone else) to be able to keep up with our life here in Michigan. I'm sure my facebook friends are tired of seeing 1000s of pictures of our boys. This blog will allow me to feel closer to my family by being able to share our daily life.
Isn't our house cute? It is small but full of character. The doors have the original glass doorknobs from the 40's and the floors are all hardwood. Our landlord has been great so far and the yard is wonderful for the boys. The floors squeak and the kitchen is original to the house but overall we are satisfied and plan to stay here for our 5 years of residency.
This is what Danny does when he isn't at the hospital. He reads ALL the time. He is working hard and I know he is going to be a great surgeon. I still can't get used to him being "Dr. Morris". When he gets paged he goes into another room to answer it because I can't help but smirk when I hear him say "this is Dr. Morris with Orthopaedics returning a page". He is trying hard to balance being a resident, a husband, and an involved dad. Some days are harder than others. I try to be supportive and not add more pressure but it's difficult.
I was REALLY nervous about this huge move in my life. I stayed in Vegas to deliver Finn (who was a surprise) so I could use my maternity leave I had paid for and mainly to have Jen (my angel) to help with Fletcher. Everything in my life changed December 2011. I packed up our house in Vegas, hired movers, found renters, quit my job (which I LOVED) and got on a plane with my newborn, 1year old, and Jen and moved to Michigan. I know Danny felt pressure too but he got to get up everyday and go to work where he had adult conversation and routine. Everything about my life was different. It took me a few months to get in the swing of things but I feel so blessed to be a stay at home mom/wife. I saw a quote on happiness and it said you first have to "accept your reality". Now I see my home as my job and I want to be great at taking care of my family. With that said, I'm blessed to spend my days with these adorable faces.
We go on a lot of bike/stroller rides. They keep us all sane. We enjoy the fresh air and we usually run into another mom/kid combo to chat with.
We stop a lot for Fletcher to check the wheels, look at ants, or pick up sticks. One day I had to call Danny to come get us because my toddler was having a meltdown and wouldn't get back on his bike. It's always something.
LOVE it Paigers! I turned out so cute! You have inspired me to vamp up my blog....I have been so slack and need to get into the swing of things! Of course the pictures of the boys are precious!! And, you know that I love the house! Now, I want to see the post about the Sassy Fairy! :) Love & miss you so MUCH!
